Christopher and Kristine Williams established Wattle Creek Winery in March 1994. The 56-acre vineyard and winery are located just south of the town of Cloverdale in Sonoma County, California. A great deal of planning and care went into the selection of this property. The Williams’, who are natives of Australia, sought and found property strikingly similar to the warm Barossa Valley in southern Australia in order to create the best possible marriage between geography and the varietals now produced at Wattle Creek. Prior to embarking on this venture, they engaged Phil Freese, a highly regarded winery consultant with worldwide experience. Phil, along with Ulises Valdez and Jack Florence Jr., our vineyard managers, have been instrumental in developing what has now become the Wattle Creek Winery.
