The Vérité Estate is located in the foothills of the Mayacamas Mountain range at the southern tip of Sonoma County's Alexander Valley. Vérité's unique location, shared by only one other winery, is just north of the confluence of the Chalk Hill and Knights Valley appellations. Our Estate is not currently open to the public for tours or tastings.
The syrah grapes come from Soscol Creek Vineyards in the southern part of the Napa Valley. Abutting the San Pablo Bay, this western-sloped vineyard has the benefits of warmth from long afternoon sun exposure, and cooling influences from the bay. This balance of warm days and cool nights gives the finished wine complexity of flavor and aroma as well as superior ripeness at harvest.
The blocks within each vineyard, or crus, as Vigneron Pierre Seillan refers to them, are based on specific criteria of soil, climate, and aspect for their potential to express a strong sense of terroir. Within each cru, Pierre isolates the micro-crus that will form the base of each Vérité wine.
