The Pax Wine Cellars logo on this web site as well as on each of our labels is the image of “Pangea Ultima”. Pangea is the theoretic single landmass that all seven continents separated from 200 million years ago. We have chosen to use the image of Pangea Ultima, which is the theoretic single landmass that all seven continents partially reconnect as in another 200 million years.

The Northern Rhone is undeniably a great “place” to grow Syrah, Australia is also making Syrah based wines of distinction and has been doing so for close to a century. The United States or even California may prove to be another great “place” for Syrah, from the central coast of California to the hills of Virginia; we are still working out the kinks.
