Newton has one of the most spectacular settings of any winery on California's North Coast. Situated high in the mountains above St. Helena, with gorgeous terraces and flower gardens, this estate has a distinctly French orientation. Much of the winery's staff appears to be French students trying to improve their English skills. Moreover, the proprietress Su Hua Newton makes no secret of the fact that she looks for inspiration from France's finest winemakers.
