Michael-Scott Winery

Founded in 1997, Michael Quinn and Scott Reinking have created a small winery located within the town of Napa, specializing in select small lots of wine from fruit grown with sustainable and eco-friendly techniques. This bonded winder is actually a large building adjacent to Michael's home, in Brown's Valley just west of the center of Napa. This site qualifies to give our venture the term "garagistes', referring to the current micro-producer movement and creative buzz which is happening throughout France. A lot of fun and hard work is in the future at this facility!

2002 was our first crush at the Brown's Valley facility, while in prior years we have enjoyed close and cooperative relationships with the meeker vineyard (1996-1997), Russian Hill Estate Winery (1998-Present) and Delormier Vineyards and Winery (2001-2002). The production lots for Michael-Scott Winery is quite small typically around 300 cases of each) compared to what most commercial brands produce, and the wine we produce at our own facility in Brown's Valley will be in even smaller lots. The larger lots will be made under the supervision of Scott and our custom crush location.

Mankind fine wine is truly a passion of winemaker Scott Reinking. Raised in Sonoma County and an ardent proponent of organic farming, Scott searches for grapes grown with these techniques, even if not officially certified, due to the flavor, integrity, and the commitment to the environment presented by the growers. In his winemaking Scott prefers to employ native yeasts, neutral cooperage, and as much gravity flow as possible. Minimal sulfite additions and no filtrations are also part of the winemaking protocol.
