Larkin produces Cabernet Franc at a level few California wineries are able to achieve. A sleeper of the vintage, the 2000 Cabernet Franc is a seriously endowed, floral, blue and red fruit-scented, medium-bodied offering oozing with flavor as well as potential complexity.
After spending years in the California wine wholesale industry, Sean Larkin started his own brokerage, seeking out and representing tiny producers of interesting, unique wines.
One step remained to complete the cycle: In 1999 Larkin Wines produced its first vintage of Cabernet Franc, primarily sourced from Titus Vineyards in St. Helena.
Production remains very limited. For the 2002 vintage, Cabernet Franc from Titus is blended with Merlot from Paradigm, and tiny amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Verdot.
