Honig Estate

Temperatures in the southern end of the Napa Valley, which borders San Francisco Bay, are influenced by the cooler marine climate. The further you move north up the valley, the warmer the temperatures become, rising by as much as 10 degrees. Our Rutherford vineyard is located smack dab in the middle of the valley, on the valley floor, along the Napa River. Our moderate temperatures, just warm enough in the day and just cool enough at night, make our vineyard perfect for growing Sauvignon blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Mt. St. John protects our vineyard from low storms that blow through during harvest. Many times, we've nervously watched a storm heading toward us, only to have it hit the mountain range and move to the north and south, missing us completely!
